A day care worker in Louisiana got a huge surprise from a mother.

Christy Owens, who works for Benton Preschool and Childcare, got a car as a gift from a mother at the school.

The mother, Brittney Nichols, noticed that Owens walks to work and school no matter the weather, reported KSLA-TV.

“Every single morning when I drop my daughter off Christy is full of joy,” she said.

“Christy is always so amazingly happy and kind,” Nichols said. “She treats the children as if they are her own. They all love her as do we the parents ... Long story short Christy did not own a vehicle and had never had the opportunity to own one or get a driver’s license....until today.”

She explained that she spent several weeks to save up and buy Owens a vehicle. Owens, who doesn’t have a license, also got paid to go to driving school. People also offered to donate to fix up her vehicle.

In a Facebook video, Owens is seen bursting into tears as Nichols explains what she did.

Her first driving class was on Thursday.

“For me, I’m just serving my purpose,” Owens explained. “And my purpose is to impact somebody.”
