Kano will return to Mortal Kombat X.

NetherRealm Studios director Ed Boon says in a new gameplay trailer that Kano is “a bit older, but with all his cybernetic upgrades, he’s deadlier than ever.”

Kano has been with Mortal Kombat since its inception. He is the leader of the Black Dragon criminal empire, and joined the original Mortal Kombat because he heard that there were riches to be had.

Like all other characters, Kano will have three variants.

Cybernetic Kano has a range of eye-laser and grenade attacks.

Commando Kano has better grappling skills for close-ranged attacks.

Lastly, Cutthroat Kano will feature “enhanced knife-fighting skills.”

Kano’s skull-emptying, eye laser-based fatality is also teased at the end of the video.

A new stage, Jungle, is also showed off.

Not much details of the game are known at present.

So far, only eight characters have been announced. They are Kano, Raiden, Kotal Kahn, D'Vorah, Ferra, Torr, and Cassie Cage.

Ed Boon might provide more information about Mortal Kombat X come Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from August 13 to 17.

The series creator hinted strongly that he will be there in a tweet.

Mortal Kombat X will be released sometime in 2015 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

See the Kano trailer below. Viewers should be forewarned that the gameplay is rather graphic.
