MINNEAPOLIS—“Oh, it’s beautiful! Really, really very beautiful!” exclaimed Mr. Michael Klingensmith. Highly acclaimed Shen Yun Performing Arts opened to an enthusiastic audience Friday evening, March 9, 2012 at the Orpheum Theatre. Mr. Klingensmith, publisher and CEO of Minneapolis’s largest newspaper was among the audience welcoming the New York based show’s return to Minnesota.

Mr. Klingensmith praised the way the various aspects of the show came together to present a gorgeous whole. “The dancing was beautiful, the music and the backdrops, the way the backdrops are integrated, and they come to life in the show, it was really interesting. I’ve never seen that before.”

Accompanying him was his wife, Ms. Ruth Shields, who was touched by the performance, Lotus Leaves, in which the dancers’ movements evoke scenes of blossoming lotus flowers. She said, “I really love the Lotus Leaves, because I like the idea of the leaves supporting beautiful flowers.”

The couple both praised the moving lyrics sung by Shen Yun’s award winning singers, and Mr. Klingensmith’s curiosity was piqued. He said, “I’m very curious to learn what ”Dafa“ is.”

After seeing the ads for Shen Yun, Mr. Klingensmith and his wife eagerly anticipated seeing the show. “It was a gift to us. All over town we were seeing the ads for months and we were very curious about the show so we were very happy to be invited.”

Mr. Klingensmith concluded by saying that Shen Yun exceeded his expectations. “Yes, beautiful, really beautiful!”
