Konami showed off a number of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain features at Gamescom 2014.

At a demo in Cologne, Germany, Konami used the same Afghanistan mission that as shown at E3, but used a different route this time.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the game was how Snake could use horse poop from his mount to cause an enemy vehicle to skid, and disorientate its drivers.

Snake promptly used the Fulton system to send the drivers and jeep back to Mother Base.

The developer playing the demo avoided a pack of wolves, nothing that animals can attack Snake if he gets too close.

Enemies in the demo also started wearing helmets, as the new FOX game engine “learned” from the E3 demo that the player was using too many head shots.

Players are also able to use remote-controlled explosive, a Jeep, and the Fulton system to take out enemy helicopters.

Finally, the developer reveals that players can go into other player’s Mother Bases, invade it, and steal their equipment and soldiers.

Check out the gameplay demo below.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One, although Konami has yet to announce a release date yet.
