Dogs are man’s best friend, but Snake gets a wolf.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima showed off footage of “DD” (which stands for “Diamond Dog”), a wolf that Snake picks up during a mission as a pup.

Ocelot will train the wolf, and eventually, Snake can bring him out on the battlefield.

Oh, and just like Snake, the adult “DD” spots an eye patch because he is somehow wounded in the right eye too.

Check out the trailer below.

Earlier at the TGS, Kojima had revealed Quiet, a sniper AI partner that will aid Snake and provide cover fire on his missions.

The scantily clad sniper was shown off in a twenty minute jungle mission at TGS.

Quiet appears to have some supernormal abilities, as she is capable of very rapid movement, cloaking herself, and leaping down from very tall heights and landing without suffering any injuries.

When and after using her special abilities, Quiet’s eye area would glow black. The reason for that and her abilities is yet to be explained.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC sometime in 2015, according to Kojima.
