Manitou Springs Flooding: Flood Sirens Go Off After Heavy Rainfall, September 12

Flood sirens are going off in Manitou Springs, a Colorado town that’s been hit hard be flooding this year and could be hit hard tonight.

“Sirens going off in Manitou. Creek appears to be rising,” said Daniel Chacon via Twitter.

“That is a massive amount of water falling onto Manitou Springs right now! 5:55PM” said the I Love Manitou Twitter account.

The Colorado Springs Police said that Highway 24 is being shutdown westbound at 31st, as well as west Colorado Avenue at 31st. 

Earlier, roads both into and out of the town were closed.

Many parts of Colorado have been hit by flash floods since early this morning, including Boulder.
