A clip that’s going viral again shows a large pack of deer gathering around a man’s doorstep to get fed.

It’s unclear where the video footage was shot.

One of the wild ruminant animals approaches the man holding the camera. He feeds it, and in an unexpected move, the deer surround him, as if waiting to get fed.

But, inexplicably, the man turns off the camera right as it starts to get good.

In many U.S. states, it is illegal to feed wild animals, but in this case, I’m sure the local wildlife authorities can make an exception.

For example, in New York state, it is illegal to feed moose and deer by material out that attracts them to feed. The reason why was in “response to the threat of Chronic Wasting Disease.”

“Feeding these species artificially concentrates them in one location for extended periods of time. CWD is most likely transmitted from animal to animal by direct contact between animals, or indirectly through contact with waste food, urine, and feces that build up at feeding sites, although the exact transmittal mechanism is currently unknown,” it states.

Some opponents say that feeding deer can make them more vulnerable to negative human influences, including roadkills. Deer feeding can also concentrate them to areas where they could be more vulnerable to hunters.
