Lindley Middle School in Cobb County, Georgia was on lockdown Friday after a report of a man armed with a knife.
Authorities were searching each classroom for the man.
But it turns out the report was a false alarm calling in by a student skipping school, reported 11News.
The report came in at 10 a.m. that someone with a knife had entered the school.
The school building is at 50 Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton in Mableton, northwest of Atlanta.
Parents looking to pick up their children should go to Mt. Harmony Church at 561 Veterans Memorial Hwy.
