LeBron James Makes His Lakers Preseason Debut

LeBron James, 33, played in his first game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on Sept. 30 against the Denver Nuggets in San Diego.

He posted a photo on Instagram captioned with, “Can’t even front, it’s just felt different! Goosebumps!”

The game was a preseason matchup, and Lakers’ coach Luke Walton only let James play for about 15 minutes to preserve his strength for the regular games.

James started with a perfect three-point shot. He made nine points total, four assists and three rebounds in the game, according to USA Today.

However, the Nuggets won the game 124-107, and they will have another preseason game against the Lakers at the Staples Center on Oct. 2.

The Lakers’ first regular NBA game this year will be held on Oct. 18 against the Portland Trail Blazers. Their first home game is against the Houston Rockets on Oct. 20.

After winning ‘Rookie of the Year’ in 2003-2004, then 3-time All-Star Game MVP, 4-time MVP, and 3-time Finals MVP, James signed a four-year $154 million contract with the Lakers in July.

The Lakers are the third team in James’s NBA career. He was with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and back with the Cleveland Cavaliers again before he joined the Lakers.

The Lakers have won 11 NBA titles, and they finished last season in third place in the Pacific division.
