A driver in a stolen vehicle is blazing along at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour on the 118 Freeway near Topanga Canyon and the Simi Valley in Los Angeles.

Police rammed his car when he got off at an offramp. The suspect, a male, got out of the vehicle and police took him into custody.

The car was mainly driving through the Granada Hills Area, reported NBC Los Angeles.

KTLA-5 television reported that the driver stole a white vehicle, with police in pursuit.

At least half a dozen police cruisers were dispatched to follow the driver. There were also police helicopters overhead.

KTLA reporters noted that traffic was “fairly light” and the suspect could easily maneuver in and out of traffic.

The car was originally pulled over by law enforcement agents. The police officer found out that the car was stolen and the suspect took off.

The suspect traveled on several streets, including Sepulveda Blvd., before heading on the 118 Freeway. He also drove down on I-5 previously.

The chase began in Agua Dulce.
