L.C. Greenwood, a defensive end who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and won four Super Bowls, died on Sunday. He was 67.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Greenwood was in the hospital for the past few days before he died,
Greenwood, who wore number 68, was part of the legendary Steelers Curtain defense that helped the team win four Super Bowls in the 1970s. He played for the team between 1969 and 1981.
He was selected to the Pro Bowl six times.
Greenwood made key postseason plays, including batting down two passes from Minnesota Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton in Super Bowl IX, and sacked Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach four times in Super Bowl X.
According to his website, Greenwood had a saying: “If you got it in your heart--you'll get it done.”
