Kit Harrington Revealed Secret to Get Out of Speeding Ticket
Fans were shocked to learn that Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington was alive.
After the season five finale of “Game of Thrones,” fans witnessed the murder—and what they believed—the death of Jon Snow, only to witness him come back to life in season six. On the May 1 episode of the HBO series, Jon Snow was brought back to life at the hands of the sorceress Melisandre—shocking and exciting news to viewers.
Harrington was apologetic for misleading fans and insisted it was a secret he had difficulty keeping.
“I had to lie to a lot of close friends and cast members and crew. The longer it went, the more I felt like I was betraying them. So I did end up letting people in, slowly,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Those people included a police officer.
In an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Harrington revealed that he spilled the beans to an officer to get out of a speeding ticket.
“There’s a story behind it in that I was driving back from my parents’s house and I was driving too fast. Actually I was being a bit naughty, I was going over the speed limit. I see the sirens go off behind me,” he shared. “This policeman comes up, pulls me over. I’m a bit sheepish, ‘I’m really sorry, I wasn’t looking at the clock.’ He said, ‘Do you realize how fast you were going?’ and ‘That’s a bookable offense.’ I said ‘Yes, I’m very, very sorry, sir.'”
And the officer offered two options to settle the offense.
“He said, ‘Look, there’s two ways we can do this. You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in. Or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of ‘Game of Thrones,'” recounted Harrington to a laughing Fallon.
The 29-year-old actor revealed Snow’s fate to the officer and was sent on his way without any consequences.
The police officer wasn’t the only person who was aware of Jon Snow’s resurrection. He also shared the hushed news to his girlfriend and parents.
