‘Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington Apologizes For Misleading Fans

Jon Snow is alive again!

After the season five finale of “Game of Thrones,” fans witnessed the murder—and what they believed—the death of Jon Snow, only to witness him come back to life in season six. On the May 1st episode of the HBO series, Jon Snow (played by Kit Harrington) was brought back to life at the hands of the sorceress Melisandre—shocking and exciting news to viewers.

After repeated confirmation from Harrington that his character would not return to the popular show, Harrington expressed apologies for misleading fans. In an exclusive interview with “Entertainment Weekly,” Harrington apologized and the shares the dedication it took to keep such a huge secret from everyone.

“Sorry!” the 29-year-old actor said in the above video excerpt. “I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right.”

Harrington’s character is one of the most popular on the Emmy Award winning show. Fans have wondered what would happen to Snow with every trailer that was released before its April 24 premiere.
