Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV will not be shown at the upcoming Tokyo Games Show, according to new information from the show’s organizers.

A list of all the games that are scheduled to be displayed at the show this year was put up on the show’s official website and is notably missing both Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV.

However, Square Enix has listed Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix is on the list.

Gamers are still hoping for at least glimpses of KH 3 and FFXV, but the only thing to do is to wait until the show to find out.

The TGS 2014 will be held from Thursday, September 18 to Sunday, September 21.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix will be out in early December of this year, and will help refresh players on the complicated narrative in the series.

“I think it’s really accessible for the younger generation, [but] story-wise, it’s a bit complex,” developer Tai Yasue told Polygon earlier this year.

“By having 1.5 and 2.5, I think it will be easier to play Kingdom Hearts 3 and understand that story. We wanted the players to experience that in HD and relearn it and re-experience it.”

The original game was released nearly 12 years ago. To fully understand Kingdom Hearts 3, the many connections between the games so far need to be explored.

“As a developer myself, you start to forget what happened,” Yasue said. “There are so many [games]. In a way, it’s a learning experience for us too.”

The release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 hasn’t been announced yet but isn’t expected to be anytime this year.
