Kate Middleton needs a new best friend as it appears she hasn’t had a night out with her girlfriends since getting married years ago, according to a new report.

The Duchess of Cambridge has a child and another on the way but is noticeably busy and could use a break to relax with a friend or two.

“She must have some friends behind closed doors, and she and her sister, Pippa, were known to galavant in Ms. Middleton’s single days. But the last time she was photographed having a laugh with girlfriends might have been before she was married,” reported the New York Observer.

“The Duchess is caught up in her official duties as a member of the royal family and a new and expectant mother, but hey, she has a nanny. Why not go out for a night on the town to remind the public of the former, fun-loving Kate?”

Princess Diana, for instance, was best friends with Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew.

As the Duchess is rarely spotted with Pippa anymore, the need appears real for a new friend, and one that is royal enough to hang with.

The Observer names Princess Charlene of Monaco as a top potential best friend for Kate.
