The pork barrel scandal prompted President Benigno Aquino III to go on nationwide television and promised to reform a system that allows lawmakers to allocate government funds following an audit that millions of dollars were misused. Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada said on Thursday morning that he is upset that Philippines President Benigno Aquino III met with alleged corrupt businesswoman Janet Napoles and not the people who blew the whistle on the corruption scheme.

Lozada, appearing on ABS-CBN, said that he’s “angry that the president met with Napoles and not with whistleblowers of pork scam.”

“I feel for other whistleblowers. What do we tell them? What is the message we are sending?” He said.

Lozada is one of several people who came forward with information about an alleged embezzlement scheme involving Napoles, some elected officials, and some non-governmental organizations.

The scheme allegedly centered on converting 10 billion Philippine pesos from the Priority Development Assistance Fund and the Malampaya Fund into kickbacks for Napoles and her company using dummy foundations and forged signatures, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer

Napoles surrendered on August 27 at 9:37 p.m. local time.

Lozada appeared on ABS-CBN on August 28 in the morning, along with attorney Levito Baligod, who is representing the whistleblowers in the case.
