A lawsuit that reportedly came from Jodi Arias is actually fake, one of her lawyers said.

The lawsuit purportedly filed by Arias was against the prison she’s being kept in as well as Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. TMZ reported that Arias sued the prison and the sheriff, blaming them for contracting Hepatitis C while in custody.

She allegedly claimed that she was given a Tuberculosis vaccine while in custody but that the needle used while administering the vaccine was dirty.

But Jennifer Willmott, one of Arias’ lawyers, told  Arizona Central that the lawsuit didn’t come from Arias.

She said that the return address listed for Arias was the 4th Avenue jail in Phoenix but that her client is actually being kept at the Estrella Jail.

The signature also doesn’t match Arias’ signature on her driver’s license.

The lawsuit also alleged that Arias was denied medical care while incarcerated.

Arpaio said the lawsuit’s claims have no basis.

“Nothing surprises me with her,” he said in a statement. “She’s just angry with me because, No. 1, I stopped all the media from going to the jail to interview her.”

The sentencing phase in the Arias trial will start on September 8 after it was originally supposed to begin in March.
