The parents of convicted murderer Jodi Arias have come forward to ask supporters to donate money to help pay for their daughter’s legal team.

Arias was convicted of murdering lover Travis Alexander but the jury deadlocked on a sentence.

That led to a new jury being chosen. The new sentencing phase could lead to Arias getting the death penalty. She plans to appeal if that’s the case.

Arias’ parents have emerged to say their daughter is in need of support to help fight against the “wrongful conviction.”

“There are other websites soliciting donations for Jodi Arias’s appeal,” father Bill Arias says in the video. “We caution everyone against donating to these sites because we don’t know whether or not these donations will ever reach Jodi Arias.”

The money will help “obtain the best legal representation” for Arias, mother Sandy Arias added.

“We love our daughter,” her mother said. “We support her and we stand behind her.”

The two-minute video was just published but was shot in September.

The National Enquirer tabloid reported recently that Arias is desperately trying to raise funds by selling merchandise including artwork.

Sources said that she’s already raised $30,000 for the appeal she would launch if sentenced to death.

The state of Arizona cannot cover the cost of the appeal by law.

Arias has a goal of $250,000 to pay a retainer for an attorney, a source said.

Sources also said that Bill and Sandy are going to file for bankruptcy soon.
