Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar are fighting despite a recent picture that appeared to show them enjoying a dinner together with their husbands, according to a new report.
One website recently claimed that there is “bad blood” between the sisters because Jessa isn’t following Jill on Instagram.
That seemed like a stretch, but now a source tells Star magazine that there is an ongoing rift between the pair.
“This has been brewing, and now that the girls and their marriages have become a bigger focus of the show, the problems are escalating,” the insider said.
The clash stems from the noted differences between Jill, 23, one of Jim Bob and Michelle’s favorite children, and Jessa, 22, considered by some to be one of the rebels in the brood.
“Jessa resents that Jill is her parents’ favorite, and she’s pulling away from the family,” the insider said. “And Jill doesn’t approve of the choices Jessa is making.”
One of the choices Jessa has made is holding her wedding to Ben Seewald in a church that wasn’t the family’s usual church, Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas.
“Jessa is able to live for herself now, without the crazy rules — and she is learning who she wants to be — but Jill stayed pretty much the same when she left home,” the insider said.
The sisters haven’t directly responded to the reports of a feud, but Jill did post a picture on Instagram recently of her and husband Derick Dillard having dinner at their house with Jessa and Ben.
Apart from that picture, the two couples are rarely seen spending time with each other.
