Manchester United could be making a swop deal with Inter Milan.

The Red Devils are keen on trading Mexican striker Javier Hernandez for Inter Milan’s Fredy Guarin, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Hernandez, 26, has been on the fringes of the Man United team since his move in 2010, and is supposedly seeking a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

The Mexican striker constantly found himself seating on the substitute’s bench, and has the likes of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order.

Inter Milan are keen to sign a striker before the season starts, while Man United boss Louis van Gaal wants more midfield cover.

The Italian side are willing to trade Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin for Hernandez.

Guarin has already turned down offers from Zenit St Petersburg and Wolfsburg, but a move to Man United could be hard to turn down.

Meanwhile, Van Gaal has said that he will evaluate how Hernandez plays before deciding on his future.

“I have only seen him under another coach so fa,” said Van Gaal.

“He has arrived today and now I can see him play in a game. Then I can talk about him.”

Former United defender Nemanja Vidic joined Inter earlier in the year, and is keen for his former club mate to join him.

“These things are up to clubs,” Vidic told reporters.

“Obviously, Chicharito will be a good signing for every club and we'd be glad to have him.”
