Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, Paul Walker’s girlfriend, was close to marrying the “Fast & Furious 7” actor before his death last month, while actor Vin Diesel said that the next movie will be coming out in April 2015.

A source told ShowbizSpy last week: “He had his daughter, Meadow, living with him and his relationship with Jasmine was solid. He was planning to make an honest woman out of her.”

“He had been looking at rings. He wanted to marry her,” the source added.

And Pilchard-Gosnell’s uncle, told the Metro: “Paul was a really good guy and Jasmine is broken up by this. I went to Thanksgiving with him, played golf with him. They had their ups and downs but they were together and looking to spend a bright future together.” He added: “This is horrible news and unexpected. Her mother is with her and she is comforting her.”

A funeral for Walker was held a week ago. His brother, daughter, and other family members were reportedly in attendance. “The funeral was only attended by those who knew Paul personally. It was very private and was more of a celebration of his life than anything,” said a source to ShowbizSpy.

“Fast & Furious” actors Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez were also there, the report said.

“Nonetheless, everyone was in tears and his girlfriend stayed with his family the whole time. His family and cast members were there, along with those who worked closely with Paul on his many projects and considered him to be a friend,” said another source, who was not named, according to the website.

“Afterwards, his mother had a mall reception that was attended by just his immediate family and a few costars from The Fast and The Furious.”

Universal Pictures has delayed the release of “Fast & Furious 7” for almost a year following the death of star Walker.

The studio announced Monday that the “Fast & Furious” sequel will be released in April 2015, instead of July next year. Shooting on the film was about halfway finished when the 40-year-old Walker died in a car crash outside of Los Angeles.

Walker still will appear in the film, though Universal has not said exactly how it will handle his unfinished performance.

Co-star Vin Diesel first posted the news on Facebook, telling his fans that, “He'd want you to know first.”

The franchise has been one of Universal’s most lucrative, grossing almost $2.4 billion worldwide since 2001. The last film, “Fast & Furious 6,” made $789 million.

Production on “Fast & Furious 7” was on Thanksgiving break when Walker and his friend, Roger Rodas, died in a fiery crash in Valencia on Nov. 30. Rodas, 38, was driving his 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with Walker in the passenger seat.

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have found no evidence of mechanical problems and have ruled out debris or other roadway conditions causing the car the slam into a light pole and tree. The investigation is ongoing, but law enforcement officials have said speed is believed to be the cause.

Shooting on “Fast & Furious 7” had been planned to resume in Atlanta two days after the crash, but Universal suspended production indefinitely.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
