The Los Angeles County coroner ruled Michael Jackson’s death a homicide, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press on Monday under condition of anonymity.

The coronor’s office declined to comment when asked by The Epoch Times.

According to the Associated Press, the official said the coroner determined a drug cocktail given to Jackson killed him on June 25.

Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson’s physician, has been under investigation for manslaughter by Los Angeles police since July. Murray was in Jackson’s mansion when the King of Pop collapsed, and had administered several drugs to Jackson throughout the night and morning of June 25.

Jackson was being treated for insomnia with the sedative Propofol for six weeks before his death. Because lethal levels of the drug were found in his system, a district court judge in Harrison County, Texas, issued a warrant to search Murray’s storage unit for Propofol on July 22.

Murray gave Jackson the lethal dose of the sedative just prior to Jackson’s death, along with several other drugs.

Jackson was receiving Propofol from at least two other sources as well—Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger. Jackson told Murray two other doctors in Germany were also giving him Propofol, according to MSNBC.

Propofol, also known as Diprivan, is a sedative used to induce general anesthesia. It is sometimes used in dental surgery.

According to the search warrant, although Murray admitted to a police officer he administered 25 mg. of Propofol along with Lidocaine to Jackson on the morning of the death, DEA records show Murray never ordered, purchased, or received any Propofol.

The police found approximately eight bottles of the drug in Jackson’s home, as well as several other vials and pills.
