Israel Defense Forces Conduct Strikes in Response to Rockets Fired From Gaza
Rockets are launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, in Gaza City on Aug. 7, 2022. Close to one-third of the Palestinians who died in the latest outbreak of violence between Israel and Gaza militants may have been killed by errant rockets fired by Islamic Jihad fighters, according to an Israeli military assessment that appears consistent with independent reporting by The Associated Press. Israel’s military said on Feb. 23 that it conducted strikes in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks from the area, as the situation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem turns increasingly violent.

On Twitter, the Israel Defense Forces said the latest strikes on the Gaza Strip had hit a weapons manufacturing site and military compound for Hamas. The terrorist group, which rules the enclave, had built the compound next door to a mosque, medical clinic, hotel, police station, and school, the IDF said.
