What do we know so far of the iPad Pro?

Apple is working on a 12.9-inch screen iPad, according to KGI securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, a reliable upcoming Apple product tipster.

This 12.9-inch iPad has been dubbed the “iPad Pro” by some.

Apparently, Apple has been considering the idea of a iPad-Macbook hybrid of sorts for a while.

A patent filed April 2014 showed a iPad-like device with a detachable keyboard.

Although Apple probably scrapped the project, it suggests that Apple has been considering a tablet device that has enough functionality for creative professionals to utilize, according to TrustedReviews.com.

Recently, Taiwan Economic Daily News noted that the iPad Pro could have split screen functionality, which would undoubtedly help with productivity, and if true, will support the earlier claims about Apple creating a device that is centered on productivity.

The iPad Pro could also feature a stylus, dubbed the iPen, as well as a 4K resolution screen.

If the rumors are accurate, then it is uncertain what Apple is doing with the iPad Pro to differentiate itself Microsoft and the Surface 3 Pro.

The Surface 3 Pro also has a huge 12-inch screen, a removable full size keyboard, and a stylus.

As for the release date, Kuo believes that Apple will launch the iPad Pro in 2015.
