International police organization Interpol released an arrest warrant Thursday for Samantha Lewthwaite, known as the “white widow,” who is believed to have been involved in the terrorist attack on the Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya.

Interpol’s Red Notice, an internationally wanted persons alert, was issued at the request of Kenyan authorities. Lewthwaite is wanted for possession of explosives and conspiracy to commit a felony dating back to December 2011, said Interpol.

Lewthwaite, 29, who is also believed to use the alias “Natalie Webb,” is the British-born widow of one of the 2005 London suicide bombers, Germain Lindsay. She converted to Islam in her youth. She is believed to have participated in the terrorist attack on the Westgate mall in Nairobi Kenya last weekend that extended into the week and left at least 72 dead and hundreds injured.

She has been connected to multiple terrorist attacks.

The Interpol alert “has activated a global ‘tripwire’ for this fugitive,” said Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble, in the Interpol notice.

“Through the Interpol Red Notice, Kenyan authorities have ensured that all 190 member countries are aware of the danger posed by this woman, not just across the region but also worldwide,” he said.
