Illinois Man Put In Coma After Vicious Bowling Ball Attack

Police are looking for a suspect in the brutal assault of an Illinois man who was seriously injured after being struck in the head with a bowling ball.

Damante Williams, 28, had to be placed in a medically-induced coma after being hit in the head during an altercation at Town Hall Bowl in Cicero on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to CBS Chicago.

Cicero Police Department said on Twitter that the suspect threw a bowling ball at the victim’s head, “causing severe injury.”

A video of the violent altercation was posted on Facebook and captioned: “Yall hit this man with a bowling ball this is crazy,” adding, “stop the violence.”

The video shows a disturbance during which an assailant picks up a bowling ball and throws it down on Williams’s head, leaving him stunned and bloodied.

Fox News reported that Williams was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood and placed in a medically-induced coma.

His mother, Tamekio Williams, expressed shock at the viciousness of the attack.

“I wouldn’t put anybody through this. What in your thought process says, ‘Bowling ball, hit him in the head while he’s being held,’” she told CBS Chicago.

Investigators said that the suspect fled the scene in a 2018 Range Rover with Wisconsin license plate AFS3400. They asked anyone with information about the assault to contact the police.

“It’s offensive, it’s hurtful, it’s cruel, and to know someone you love, you can’t be desensitized to the fact that I saw a portion of my son bent over with blood coming down his face,” Tamekio Williams told CBS.

She said he had been brought out of the coma on Friday and is making a slow recovery.

Men Violently Beat Bowling Alley Employee

The story recalls an incident in Roseville, Michigan, involving a group of men violently beating a bowling alley employee before throwing a bowling ball at his head.

Police released security camera footage of the brutal incident, appealing to the public for help finding the suspects.

The incident took place at the Apollo Lanes on Gratiot Avenue in Roseville, located near Detroit, at 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 10, 2018.

The employee had asked the men to leave, prompting the men to attack him, police said.

“While bowling the group became unruly and began creating a disturbance and were asked to leave by an employee,” the Roseville Police Department said in a statement, adding, “Several members of the group surrounded the bowling counter where the employee was standing.”

The video shows one of the men reaching over the counter and punching the employee in the face while a second man goes behind the man and begins to punch him.

The first man is then seen picking up a bar stool and hitting the victim with it. Moments later, he grabs a bowling ball and hits him in the head, dropping the man.

Officials added: “As the assault continued this same subject then picked up a bowling ball and smashed the ball on the back of the employee’s head. The employee fell to the ground and both subjects continued to kick the employee in the head prior to fleeing the location.”

The victim recovered from his injuries.

“I had a large gash in the back of my head,” said Andrew Rosenmayer, the employee who was assaulted, according to ClickOrlando. “I also had a concussion.”

Police later apprehended two suspects, 31-year-old Quinton Kisor and 31-year-old Branden Moore, and charged them with numerous offenses.

Kisor, who was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm and assault with a dangerous weapon, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year in jail and two years probation, according to Detroit News.

He apologized to the victim in court, saying, “I wish this had never happened.”
