Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall took a unanimous decision against Iliarde Santos during UFC 163 on Saturday night in Rio De Janeiro, using superior speed and technique to win a close featherweight bout.

McCall, an American, used leg kicks and a bobbing-and-weaving style to mostly nullify Santos, who conversely was looking for a big shot.

McCall at times looked a bit reckless and overconfident, putting his hands down despite his corner saying otherwise.

Santos, a Brazilian who took the fight on short notice, tried to taunt McCall into a brawl with him, which worked at times. In the second round, Santos  was able to take his opponent down.

But McCall’s footwork, pace, and head movement proved to be too much. He was also able to move in and out of  Santos’ range with ease.

The judges scored the contest 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28.
