On Friday, March 9, investigators discovered an arm bone outside the home of Micahel Shaver, 35, who had been missing since 2015, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Shaver worked as a monorail mechanic for Walt Disney World.
Lake County Sheriff’s Lt. John Herrell told the Sentinel that detectives also discovered articles of clothing. The remains were sent to the Medical Examiner’s office to find out the identification and cause of death.
A friend of Shaver recently contacted authorities after he became concerned that he had not heard from him in years.

Authorities then went to Shaver’s home in Lake County on Feb. 16. His 35-year-old wife, Laurie Shaver, initially allowed deputies to look inside their home, CBS News reported. But later she stopped cooperating and asked for a lawyer.
Sheriff’s deputies said they saw what appeared to be new concrete near a fire pit in the backyard. They asked the wife if they could bring a cadaver dog but she refused. Deputies returned later with a warrant and dug up the bones.
“We eventually made our way to a fire pit area in the back of the home and it had … it was just a shoddy concrete job, poured around this fire pit, so we began focusing our efforts there, and I can tell you we found what appears to be a bone that is consistent with that of a human upper arm bone,” Lt. John Herrell with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office told CBS affiliate WKMG.
Even though Shaver vanished back in 2015, he was not reported missing until last month, FOX35 Orlando reported.

His sister, 46-year-old Stacie Shaver, said that they did not want to involve authorities because “we thought we could find him on our own,” she told the Orlando Sentinel.
According to FOX35 Orlando, the wife is being called a person of interest at this stage of the investigation.
