HKFA Premier League Starts New Season

The first games of the HKFA Premier League season kicked off on Saturday (12 Sep) when Dreams Metro Gallery won 2-nil against Wong Tai Sin at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground, and reigning champions Kitchee defeated Yuen Long 4-nil at Mongkok Stadium.

HONG KONG—The first games of the HKFA Premier League season kicked off on Saturday (12 Sep) when Dreams Metro Gallery won 2-nil against Wong Tai Sin at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground, and reigning champions Kitchee defeated Yuen Long 4-nil at Mongkok Stadium.

Tse Long-hin scored the first goal of the season for Dreams Metro Gallery in the 7th minute, and they sealed the 2-nil win in the 55th minute when Wong Tsz-ho added the second. In their game, Kitchee’s Jorge Tarres opened the scoring in the 37th minute when he finished Fernando Pedreira’s cross, and added a second in the 45th minute when he headed in Matthew Lam’s free kick, for a 2-nil half time lead. Kitchee added a third in the 83rd minute when Paulo Carreira finished Daniel Cancela’s cross, and completed the scoring in time added on when Jorge Tarres finished to earn a hat-trick and a 4-nil Kitchee win.

In Sunday’s (Sep 13) games, Kwoon Chung Southern and Pegasus fought out an exciting 3-all draw at Aberdeen Sports Ground, whilst Eastern defeated BC Rangers 2-1 at Kowloon Bay Park.
Kwoon Chung Southern took the lead in the 29th minute when Jose Diaz headed in Michael Luk’s cross, but Pegasus equalised in the 31st minute when Admir Adrovic finished from Lee Ka-ho’s cross, and the same player scored from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute to give Pegasus a 2-1 half time lead. Michael Luk scored the equaliser with a header for Kwoon Chung Southern in the 53rd minute, and they re-took the lead in the 58th minute when Wellingson Da Souza scored from a penalty kick. However, Pegasus equalised in the 66th minute through Joao Pereira for an entertaining draw.

In the day’s other game, BC Rangers took the lead in the 35th minute when Hui Wang-fong converted a cross, but Eastern equalised in the 74th minute throung Roberto Affonso’s free kick,
and then won the game in the 83rd minute when Andrew Barisic converted a cross.

In the first division, Lucky Mile drew 1-all against Kwun Tong, Citizen won 3-1 against Tai Chung, Yau Tsim Mong won 2-nil against Kwai Tsing, HKFC won 3-1 against Sun Hei, the win by courtesy of a Robbie Bacon header, and two goals from substitute James Beacher, a header and a drive, Shatin were 2-nil victors over Double Flower, Wing Yee drew 2-all with Wanchai, and Tai Po were 3-1 winners against Metro Gallery Sun Source.

In the second division’s first round, Eastern District were 2-1 victors over Tuen Mun, Sparta Rotterdam Mutual were 1-nil winners against Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po defeated Happy Valley 3-nil, Tung Sing drew nil-all with Kwong Wah, Sai Kung were 2-1 winners against Tsuen Wan, and Tuen Mun FC were 5-1 winners against Kwok Keung.

In the third division, Rex Global North District were 2-nil victors against Ornament, Hoi King won 1-nil against Islands, Central and Western were 3-nil victors against Fukien, St Joseph’s won 5-2 against New Fair Kui Tan, Wing Go Fu Moon were 6-2 victors over HKFYG, Telecom were 3-nil victors over King Mountain, and KCDSRC were 2-1 winners against KCC.

Yau Yee League
In the first division, KCC Dragons were 4-1 victors over Colts, Albion were defeated 1-nil by The Store House Squadron, GAS were 5-1 winners against HKDC Mobsters, Swiss XI were 4-2 victors over Baker Tilly Spartans, HKU70’s won 1-nil against USRC, and Corinthians against Wanderers was not played due to Corinthians failing to field a team. The game was awarded to Wanderers as a result.

GAS and KCC Dragons head the early table with 100% records after 2 rounds.

In the second division, Interglobo Colloids were 2-1winners against WYFC06, French Kiss were 2-nil victors over Azzurri, Antonhill were beaten 1-nil by IES, Boca Seniors were beaten 3-2 by GGFC, The Store House Hearts were 1-nil winners against University, and IUSC (Tai Po) were 3-nil winners against KCC Knights.

IUSC (Tai Po) and Interglobo Colloids head the early table with 100% records after 2 rounds.

In third division games, HKSS were 2-1 victors over HKUSA, Dynamo won 3-nil Grasshoppers, CSOB drew 1-all against CAPS, White Youth drew 1-all with Yan Po, Goal Visio won against Green Cypress FC, and HOB were 3-1 winners against ANP.

In the fourth division, Maccabi HK won 2-1 against Power 22, WYFC84 were 2-nil victors over Outward Bound, Standard Chartered were beaten 4-3 by Hung Art, Rising Sun were 2-nil winners against Bapcoll, Friends of Barclays were 4-1 victors over Darts, and Scorpions were 4-nil winners against Skyline.

The early table lead is shared by four teams with 100% records, these being Rising Sun,
Scorpions, Friends of Barclays and Maccabi HK.
