HONG KONG—The BOCG Life Premier League took a break last weekend, while some of the teams took part in further qualification rounds for the League Cup.

The first of the games held on Friday (19 December) was a Group A game held at Kowloon Bay Park, and featured a nil-all draw between South China and I-Sky Yuen Long played in difficult condition which contributed to the result.

The second game was also played at Kowloon Bay Park, and featured a game between Kitchee and BC Rangers on Saturday (December 20). Kitchee took the lead in the 10th minute when Paulo Carreiro headed in Lam Ka-wai’s corner, and then doubled his side’s lead a minute later when he scored his second goal.

Kitchee extended their lead in the 30th minute when Juan Belencoso volleyed past goalkeeper Siu Leong from Jorge Tarres’ pass, to give Kitchee a 3-nil lead at the half time break.

Kitchee stretched the lead to 4-nil in the 62nd minute when Juan Belencoso fired home the rebound after BC Rangers goalkeeper Siu Leong had parried Jorge Tarres’ shot, and
then went further ahead after 67 minutes when Juan Belencoso claimed his hat-trick
after crashing home from Paulo Carreiro’s pass.

Kitchee went 6-nil ahead after 74 minutes when Cheung Kwok-ming fired home from Christian Annan’s cross, whilst Juan Belencoso grabbed his 4th and Kitchee’s seventh after 77 minutes when converting Low Kwan-yee’s cross. Christian Annan added an
89th minute solo effort to make the final score 8-nil to Kitchee.

The third game was played at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground on Sunday (21 December), and saw a Group B game between Sun Pegasus and Eastern end in a 1-all draw. Sun Pegasus opened the scoring in the 9th minute when Admir Rascic converted from the penalty spot after the forward was fouled during Lee Chi Ho’s tackle, for which the latter was red carded and sent off. This scored held until the half time break.

Sun Pegasus could not take advantage of their numerical player advantage, and Eastern equalised after 84 minutes when Dylan Macallister received a through ball before evading the goalkeeper to score into an empty net, and a 1-all final result. Sun Pegasus qualified for the semi final through a better group goal difference.
