GoPro’s stocks are up thanks to the GoPro Hero 4.

According to the Wall Street Journal, investors paid heed to Chief Executive Nick Woodman’s assessment that the GoPro 4 is going to be “a big one” at an investment conference in August, and have since been bidding the GoPro stock up to nearly 80 percent.

In considering the past year performance of the Hero3+ and taking into account GoPro chip maker Ambarella’s strong forecast earlier this month, the WSJ predicts a Q4 2014 launch for the GoPro Hero 4.

New tech blog Dgise had earlier predicted that the camera “will position the retail shelves in October 2014” and should cost about $340.

In contrast, financial website Benzinga, citing Duffy, says that the Hero 4 will carry a retail price of $499.95.

Currently, the Hero3+ Black is going for $399.95.

Specs wise, the Dgise says that the Hero 4 is expected to come capable of recording video in 4K resolution at a speed of 30 frames per second, 1080p at 120fps and 720p at 240fps and also have a 13-megapixel photo sensor, a completely new lens for shooting in dark, together with Multi-Exposure and HDR WDR tone mapping, electronic image stabilization, and an improved MCTF.

It should be noted, however, that Dgise doesn’t appear to have any concrete evidence for its prediction.
