A new season of Girls has been confirmed, and shooting will commence in 2014.

HBO announced on January 10 that Season 4 will air January, 2015, on the show’s usual time slot. The exact date, however, has not been announced.

As Season 3 premiered January 12, and Season 2, January 13, Season 4 should also premiere in mid-January.

So far, Andrew Rannells, who plays Elijah, is confirmed to return, and will be a regular in Season 4.

“I’m happy to say that I get to join the cast of ‘Girls’ next year full-time (for Season 4), so I’m very, very happy about that,” Rannells told Zap2it. “I’m very excited.”

One actor who may not be appearing too regularly is Adam Driver, who plays Adam Sackler in Girls.

Driver has been getting plenty of big screen roles recently. He is set to feature in Martin Scorsese’s Silence, a film set in 17th century Japan, which is set to film in summer, and is also confirmed to be the main antagonist in J J. Abrams’s Star Wars: Episode VII.

It is rumored that Hannah Horvath’s lover might play Darth Caedus aka Jacen Solo (Han Solo and Princess Leia’s off spring) in Star Wars.

Since Episode VII is set to film in May 2014, there could be a chance that Driver’s tight schedule won’t leave him much time for Girls, which might in turn affect his on-screen relationship with Lena Dunham.

Girls Season 3 draws to a close with the finale Sunday, March 23, 9:00 p.m. local time on HBO.
