Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)
You would definitely be forgiven for presuming that Brotherhood may have ended up disappointing, yet it somehow overcomes negative presumptions, and offers one of the biggest surprises of the year. Returning to the Italian Renaissance, Brotherhood continues Ezio’s quest to defeat the Templar threat, and while the story is not as impressive as its predecessor, it is still compelling enough to leave you wanting more once the credits roll. This is a beautiful game, which presents a huge open world filled with minute details, side quests, and places to explore. Add in a risky yet exciting multiplayer component, and Brotherhood ends up being the best game in the series so far, and a great, final addition to this year’s roster of games.
