‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Joseph Gatt Arrested for Alleged Sexually Explicit Communication With a Minor

“Game of Thrones” actor Joseph Gatt has been arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for Contact with a Minor for Sexual Offense under the California Penal Code, the Los Angeles Police Department announced on April 12.

Officials said in a news release Tuesday that police served Gatt, 50, with a residential search warrant at his home early April 6 at around 4:45 a.m. after receiving a tip-off that he had been engaged in online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines.

He was subsequently arrested by police on an outstanding felony warrant. An investigation into the matter is ongoing, officials said.

Gatt was released on $5,000 bail after a few hours, according to multiple reports.

Police are also looking to identify any possible additional victims and asked anyone who may have more information to contact law enforcement.

Gatt—who is a British actor residing in Los Angeles—began his acting career with an appearance on the British police drama “The Bill” in 1999.

According to his IMDB profile, he now has a long list of acting credits including supporting parts in 2011’s “Thor,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” and the remake of Disney’s “Dumbo,” and has appeared as Thenn Warg on “Game of Thrones.”

Gatt also appeared on “Banshee,” “Teen Wolf,” “Ray Donovan,” and “NCIS: New Orleans.”

The actor is set to star in the upcoming movies “Black Adam,” alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Titanic 66,” and a string of others set to be released later this year.

The actor released a statement shortly after his arrest addressing the allegations, which he called “horrifying and completely untrue” and said he was cooperating with law enforcement.

“I obviously want to address the absolutely horrifying and completely untrue allegations recently leveled against me,” Gatt said. “They are 100% categorically wrong and reckless. I have confirmed errors and misleading information in today’s press release.

“I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this. I look forward to clearing my good name. Thank you to all of my friends and supporters who know that this is untrue and understand for legal reasons I cannot comment further on social media.”
