Floyd Mayweather, who was recently filmed doing boxing sessions with Justin Bieber, said that the 20-year-old Canadian singer could be a pro boxer.

Mayweahter, in a video posted by TMZ, said Bieber could fight at the pro level.

When asked, Mayweather said, “Oh Absolutely ... Justin Bieber’s a true champion,” he said, apparently without sarcasm.

“As you know, Bieber and Mayweather are tight -- and Floyd spent several hours training the pop star at a famous L.A. boxing gym last month,” the TMZ report notes.

But as the Big Lead notes, Bieber would get demolished by amateur or pro boxers.

“That’s obviously untrue, though there would perhaps be nothing more potentially entertaining from the general public’s perspective than for Justin Bieber to believe he could compete in the ring with real boxers,” the site says.

It adds, “He'd get decimated.”

“Listen: As someone who’s seen Justin Bieber in concert, I‘ll say that he is in really good shape. If he were recklessly speeding around my neighborhood and we got in a fight, he’d probably win handily. But, you could have the ability to beat up 99% of the population and still get absolutely stomped on by someone who does that for a living. Any real boxer would impale Bieber’s face,” the site notes.

Meanwhile, longtime promoter Bob Arum, who does work for Manny Pacquiao, said that it would be problematic if the Canelo Alvarez-Miguel Cotto fight took place on the same day as a Mayweather fight on a different card.

“Well it could happen (airing a fight on the same day as Mayweather), but it will be stupid for both sides to do it on the same day,” he said via ThaBoxingVoice.

He added: “May 2nd is a date that celebrates Mexican heritage. If a big fight with a Mexican Hispanic like Canelo [is happening it should be on Cinco De Mayo weekend]. Floyd should find another date, there’s nothing magical on May 2nd for Floyd, he’s not Hispanic. He’s apparently not going to fight another Hispanic fighter. There are all other weeks of the year and Floyd should look for another date.”
