A blaze on Shady Brook Lane in Knox County, Ky., killed Jessie Disney, his pregnant girlfriend, Nina Asher, her three children, and two of her children’s friends who were sleeping over.

The cause of the fire at the rural Kentucky home is unknown, but officials told USA Today no foul play is suspected. A neighbor, Jason Garrison, called 911 at about 10 a.m. on Saturday and reported flames and dense smoke coming out of the house’s windows.

“It was too late by then,” Garrison told WKYT.

Disney’s uncle, Ray Disney, told WKYT:“Nina was lying right at the door and Jessie was laying about 20 feet away from the door where he had headed back in to get the kids.”

Disney’s uncle also spoke to the love and attention Asher always gave her children.

The couple had been renovating, and a Facebook post by Asher on Friday night expressed how happy she was with the new state of her home.

The names of the children have not yet been released.
