World War II veteran William Pekrul spoke Wednesday at the Republican National Convention, recalling his and his fellow U.S. soldiers’ fight against the Nazis. The 98-year-old D-Day hero inspired cheers from convention-goers throughout his speech, in which he told them that “America is still worth fighting for.”
