Possible Strike by Workers at East Coast and Gulf Ports

The International Longshoremen’s Association union representing 45,000 workers at major container ports from Texas to Maine may strike on Oct. 1 if they can’t hammer out a deal before their six-year contract with the United States Maritime Alliance expires at the end of the day on Sept. 30.
