Manchester United are keen in a swap deal for Ross Barkley, Manchester City could be closing in on Fernando and Bacary Sagna, and Liverpool stand to lose out in the race for Alberto Moreno’s signature.

Man United boss Louis van Gaal supposedly had talks with chief executive Ed Woodward recently and has ranked Everton’s Ross Barkley high on his to-sign list, CaughtOffside reports.

The 20-year-old England international had an excellent 2013/2014 season with Everton, and has even featured in England boss Roy Hodgson’s plans recently.

Man United could be offering £20 million ($33.5 million) plus former Toffee player Marouane Fellaini to Everton. Fellaini cost Man United £27.5 million ($46 million) last summer, and has thus far had negligible impact with the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, current EPL champions Man City could be closing in on deals for FC Porto Fernando and Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna, according to the Daily Mail.

Brazilian Fernando could move be signed for £14.5 million ($24.3 million), and will join the likes of Fernandinho, Jack Rodwell, and Javi Garcia in a crowded City midfield.

Sagna, on the other hand, will have to duke it out with incumbent Pablo Zabaleta for a regular spot.

Over at Merseyside, Liverpool might once against miss out on transfer target Alberto Moreno, according to the Mirror.

The Reds are unwilling to meet Sevilla’s £18 million ($30.2 million) asking price for the highly-rated 21-year-old Spanish left-back.

Under manager Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool have thus far failed to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka (transfer talks broke down), Mohamed Salah (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea), and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Borussia Dortmund).
