Robert Cosby Jr., the 23-year-old son of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast member Mary Cosby, died Wednesday.
Cosby did not disclose additional details in the statement. The announcement prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans and fellow reality television figures across Instagram and Threads.
Bravo, the network behind “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” shared a message of support on its official social media accounts.
In recent years, Cosby had spoken publicly about her son’s sobriety journey and the challenges he faced. During a September appearance on SiriusXM’s “Reality Checked,” she reflected on supporting him through difficult periods.
“I can just only push him, encourage him, and love him. And that’s what I’m doing,” she said at the time. “I know he’s got all the tools and he’s got all the will, the willpower that he needs and the support.
“I have hope, and I believe in him.”
Following the news of his death, tributes from fans and fellow cast members continued to circulate online, with many offering prayers and messages of comfort to the Cosby family as they grieve.
“Thank you for sharing Bubbs with my family and the world. He touched many hearts and this loss has broken mine,” co-star Angie Katsanevas wrote. “I will forever remember his kindness towards Elektra, his handshake and eye contact, and his soft spoken voice ‘Love you Mom.’ I am here for you ... May god bless your family and may his memory be eternal. I love you Mary.”
Heather Gay, another co-star, commented: “There are no words big enough. We love you Mary.”
