Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is reportedly being sought by a Hollywood casting director.
The director is currently working on a TV pilot as well as the “Uncle Drew” movie, featuring Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving. Lil Rel Howery, Nick Kroll, Shaq, Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, and Lisa Leslie will also appear.
In 2014, Kaepernick signed a $126 million extension with San Francisco after he helped take the team to the Super Bowl but ultimately lost to the Baltimore Ravens. In March, he opted out of his deal but courted controversy for being the first NFL player to take a knee during the national anthem. In attempting to explain the protest, Kaepernick said that he’s trying to draw attention to police brutality and racism.
Earlier this month, Seattle Seahawks player Michael Bennett and other athletes called on an NFL team to sign Kaepernick, according to the Washington Post.
