A 7.1-magnitude earth quake hit off the coast of Papua New Guinea on Wednesday.
The United States Geological Survey reports that the epicenter was 47 miles west-southwest of the capital, Bougainville. It was 36.2 miles deep.
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says a destructive tsunami is an unlikely to follow. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.
