Earthquake Today in Philippines Jolts Surigao del Sur; Felt in Tandag

An earthquake struck today in the Philippines, jolting Surigao del Sur.

The 4.8 quake was felt in Bislig City and Tandag, reported the Philippine Sun Star. The quake was two miles (three kilometers) southwest of La Pax and nine miles (14 kilometers) south-southeast of Tandag.

It hit at a depth of 6.3 miles (10.1 kilometers).

The quake hit around 10:20 a.m. on Sunday.

There are no expected damages or aftershocks, the Philippines weather agency said.
