The Disneyland Resort in California will feature “Disney 100 Years of Wonder,” a worldwide company celebration to honor the 100th year anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, starting on Jan. 27, 2023.

At the September D23 Expo—an event to introduce new developments for Disney for the coming year—a new Walt Disney Studios logo in honor of the anniversary was unveiled, as well as new entertainment, dining, and merchandise coming to the parks in 2023.

“Ten decades of creativity, innovation, and determination created The Walt Disney Company you know today—the most enduring and beloved name in entertainment,” Disney CEO Bob Chapek said during the event. “It’s an awesome responsibility to lead Disney as we begin our second century of telling stories and creating magic that will endure for another 100 years.”

Additionally, the company announced Oct. 6 new nighttime events at the Disneyland Resort: the “World of Color—One” which will detail Disney’s 100-year legacy in a new light and will be staged at California Adventure, and a fireworks show called “Wondrous Journeys,” which will highlight Disney’s animated films—at Disneyland—starting in late January.

The color “platinum silver” will be the color scheme for the year.

Sleeping Beauty’s castle will be topped with a star and covered in platinum banners and bunting sparking with pixie dust and jeweled designs. The moat around the castle will also have two water fountains for the first time.

The Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction will also open on Jan. 27, just before the reopening of what remains of Mickey’s Toontown, which has been closed for renovations.

The “Magic Happens” daytime parade, which was paused due to COVID-19 restrictions, will return as was additionally announced Oct. 17. The parade, led by Mickey Mouse, consists of floats adorned with costumed performers of Disney characters along with a new song co-composed by American singer-songwriter Todrick Hall, known for his debut on the televised singing competition American Idol.
