Dave Lee Travis, a former BBC Radio One presenter, has been charged with multiple accounts of indecent assault on victims aged 15 to 29.

The alleged crimes span 1977 to 2007, the Independent reports. The former presenter’s real name is David Patrick Griffin. Griffin was arrested Nov. 15, 2012.

Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London Alison Saunders told the Independent: “Having completed our review, we have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Griffin to be charged with 11 counts of indecent assault and one of sexual assault.”

The BBC tweeted on Thursday: “Former BBC presenter Dave Lee Travis ‘disappointed & surprised” at sex charges & denies wrongdoing, solicitor says.”
