GOSHEN--The Orange County Youth Bureau kicked off its 2015 Summer Youth Internship Program on June 25. The programs offer an opportunity for Orange County youth to volunteer in county departments where they gain real life work experience.

Students who have completed 10th grade, rising seniors, and those who have just graduated are eligible for the program. Interns will take on administrative and computer-related responsibilities, work on designated assignments or projects, and even conduct field visits.

The Orange County Youth Bureau hosted an orientation on June 25 for 36 students representing 16 Orange County school districts. The orientation gave them a chance to meet with their supervisors from various county departments. The orientation began with a workshop hosted by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals to present work readiness skills.

Supervisors and youth left the orientation excited at the opportunity to give back to the community. For more information regarding the 2015 Orange County Summer Youth Internship Program call the Orange County Youth Bureau at 845-615-3620 or visit www.OrangeCountyGov.com/YouthBureau.
