KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company presented its second performance at Kaohsiung City Cultural Center on March 13 to another full-house. Deputy Magistrate of Pingtung County, Chung Chia-pin, said after the performance, “These artists are young. They are devoted to the performance and their spirit is admirable.”

Mr. Chung has seen Shen Yun a number of times. He said he greatly appreciates the dancing programs and the fabulous representation of the dancers. “They were utterly absorbed in their dance. And they were willing to give their all to the audience as well.”

Shen Yun presents classical Chinese dance, accompanied by a live orchestra. It represents the 5,000 years of the authentic, divinely-inspired Chinese culture. Mr. Chung commented on the program How the Monkey King Came To Be. “It’s a story we are familiar with. I found that the stories [in Shen Yun] represent the culture we are all familiar with.” He added that the application of the dynamic backdrop “gave the audience great surprise.”

New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has three touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world. For people who have not seen Shen Yun, Mr. Chung recommended, “If you haven’t seen it, you should come to see it.”

“I think there is profound meaning beyond the art and culture. We can think it over carefully when seeing the performance,” Mr. Chung said.
