Cop photo goes viral:  A photograph of a Boston cop delivering milk to family during the city’s lockdown on Friday went viral.

“BPD Officer delivers milk to a family with young children in Watertown during the lockdown,” reads a statement from the Boston Police Department on Twitter in describing the image.

Brookline, Mass. father Kevin Wells took a photo of the officer, John Bradley, who was arriving at the family’s home with milk. The milk was for Wells’ 17-month-old child.

“It just meant the world that he literally went out and got two gallons of milk,“ McKenzie Wells, the mother of the child, told Today.com. “We wanted to pay him, but he wouldn’t take money from us. He was just so generous.”

The photo was shared more than 100,000 times on Facebook.

“He was just happy to be able to help,’’ Brookline Police Department spokesperson Lt. Phil Harrington told Today. “He does not want to take credit from the many officers who were there doing their job.”

Boston and outlying areas was on lockdown as police hunted Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was apprehended on Friday night.
