U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo promoted accountability for human rights violators on Twitter on Nov. 16, after Chinese state-run media personally attacked him in several disparaging editorials.

Chinese officials and state-run media have previously criticized Pompeo after the latter issued strongly-worded condemnations of the regime’s human rights violations and aggressive coercion tactics.
