North Korean public health videos on COVID-19 were recently censored in China after gaining support on Chinese social media. Chinese netizens praised North Korea’s “common sense approach” in dealing with the Omicron variant in contrast to Beijing’s scaremongering tactics and harsh lockdowns.

As North Korea combats its first official COVID outbreak, its state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on May 15 broadcasted a two-minute video featuring a doctor from Pyongyang explaining how to treat COVID symptoms and prevention methods.
